We started the week off with square dancing. Elder and Sister Adams were at it again trying to teach us old folks new tricks. We met in the Pageant Center which had more room and was air conditioned. Elder Adams is one patient man with all of us. He corrected often, paused, gave repeated instructions, and by the end of the class, well we were pretty good!
We were attentive with instruction and hoping once the music started we could put our minds to our feet.
Our square is in motion promenading around the square. In front of us is Elder and Sister Beck, Elder & Sister LeDuc, and Elder and Sister Hurst.
Our temple week went well with plenty of assignments and things to do. Monday in the Baptistry was hard as we did not have even one patron come in. Wow, I guess families were busy with finishing up the last week of school and such. On Saturday we were guides for a young bride and groom. It was special to be with them and their wedding party. The love and happiness they shared was neat to see.
On a trip to Keokuk, we saw a barge starting to load in the lock. It was fascinating to watch so we turned around and went down closer to see. The barge is at the far end with a tug on the side helping it aim in.
The barge is coming out the other end. We were so close we greeted the worker as he got even with us. He said they were hauling grain.
We patiently waited all week for the part to come in for the car. Finally it arrived on Wednesday and we scheduled for it to be put in on Friday in Peoria, IL. We tried to find subs for us in the temple but everyone that has Friday for a P-day were having a brunch together! So, the shift coordinator said they would cover our lines.
Off we went to Peoria and slowed down for the buggy on the road. We are surrounded by Amish communities in Iowa and Illinois.

We dropped off the car and they gave us a loaner, a brand new Lexus to drive around town while the part was being replaced.
We were feeling pretty special and took off to find a place to eat. We ended up at Steak & Shake. The food was good and at a very reasonable price, but it wasn't all we thought it would be. Where is In n Out?!@%?/
We finished up the week and then were headed to St. Louis early Sunday morning to catch our fight to Phoenix. We were so excited to be going home for a very special time with our family. Here we are crossing the Mississippi River at Hannibal, MO.
From St. Louis we changed planes in Oklahoma City, and then on to Phoenix. The flights went well and were on time. In Phoenix Kendal's family was waiting for us at the gate. They had gotten in from Salt Lake just ahead of us. We gave loving hugs, greeted each other, and then were off to claim baggage and pick up rental cars. Well, one of our bags did not make it. We brought two home to send on home to Yuma with stuff we won't need here. It did not make the transfer in Oklahoma City and we were told it would get in tomorrow and they would call us. I was a little bummed as that bag had all the gifts we brought for the grandchildren.
We got the rental cars and Eme and McKenna rode with us as we headed out to Tucson. The rest of the Welkers were in front in the big white van. The drive went well and before we knew it we were in Tucson and at the park.
We were excited to see more family - Jeanna's family, Halie's family, Nelson's family, Katie's family, and Juliann's family. Jared and Kim came shortly and we all enjoyed greetings, hugs, good food, visiting, and just being together. The weather was great and we had plenty of seats, blankets, drinks, and food.
We got a cute picture of the three London Mission babies - Eliza, Koa, and Collins.
At intermission we all cleaned up and cleared out, going to different places for the night. We stayed at Nelson's. It was so good to be with family.
